BioHoly crap I'm an evil cult leader!
Being accused of something so crazy made me very interested in the topic as you can imagine. I've done a lot of exploring this subject. I'm a Catholic but I believe there is more than one "right" path. For me to consider anything a cult it has to meet the criteria below.

Rialian for example, can be incredibly funny but he is also paranoid and devoid of ethics. I'd exercise caution around this person. If you are a young woman interested in the otherkin movement I'd stay away from Rialian. And if you have a young, attractive daughter, ditto. Also, only pay Rialian for any goods and services with a check which can be cancelled or get the goods up front. He has a history of bad business practices.
Also, if you are friended To lj user kenazf, please don't bother friending me.
People who are interested in the Afro-Caribbean diaspora really have to tread carefully. For every good man or woman they can find there are a hundred sick, sleazy con artists. (Kenazf for one example.)
The religions being fringe makes research hard but there are good people out there! I think that goes for a lot of the more "fringe" religions and some of the mainstream ones too! Do your research and when you are done, do even more research. Best of luck!
